GRACE IN SIN or SIN IN GRACE???!

I’ve been trying to put this into plausibly explainable words and I still don’t think this does justice to it but I’m gonna try.
Here goes…. What advice would you give to a sinner that refuses to ask for forgiveness for his sins because he knows that before long, he’ll go right back to where he left off, knee-deep in sin. As it would seem, he wants to follow the word as said in Romans 6:1-2 KJV

What shall we say then? Shall we continue in sin, that grace may abound? God forbid. How shall we, that are dead to sin, live any longer therein?

He believes that asking for forgiveness when he knows what will happen in the end is an abuse of grace and a greater sin instead.
I advised that while praying for forgiveness , he also asks for the will to desist from temptation and according to him, its all to no avail.
I completely agree that the abuse of the grace given to us by God is as worse a sin as whatever sin he may be committing is, but he needs this grace and he’s obviously lost his eligibility status a long time ago. How can he ask for it and be eligible for it as well?
