Happy sunday.

I would like to say for the record that that phrase is the most abused  statement used in this present day.  What makes us think putting up ‘happy sunday’ on our pms and status updates makes it happy.  Or is it saying it to 10 pple that makes it, justifiably, a happy sunday? Do we even know what a happy sunday entails?  Have we ever HAD a happy sunday?  A sunday that isnt filled with grunts and tiny complaints;  ‘im only going to church bcos im leading praise o’ ‘why is that usher’s skirt so short’ ‘this pastor’s sermon is boring today o’ ‘mehn this our choir no dey try’ ‘if only mumsy wasnt home now shebi i for sit down for house’ and it goes on and on…. its quite disturbing.  You either want to go to church or not.  Its that simple. Church was not designed for unhappy,  dissatisfied people.  The very idea of church should gladden your heart to an extent that even the choir’s wacky song cant kill your vibe.  Afterall,  you’re  there for God,  not them.  Less complaining,  more praising,  more worship,  more contentment.  Or you could just sit at home and start your weekday on a Sunday and have the usual grunts that come with a Monday starting on a Sunday instead.  I dont know if Im making sense but i feel a different ‘weekend happiness’ on Sunday that i dont feel on a Saturday because that day has some ‘Sun’ in it,  and a very healthy dose of ‘God’.  Oh the joy in just reveling in the fact that you have been given another privilege to praise the one who made you.  Take that opportunity and be grateful for it.  Have an actual HAPPY Sunday!
