Ever heard the saying “life is not a bed of roses”? Well guess what?, its TRUE!!!. Life is full of ups and downs, hardships, struggles, mammoth sized disappointments lurking around almost every corner and the quest for happiness seems like chasing the cloud. What a pessimist you might think, sorry folks… Just being factual.
As crazy as this world is though, we get certain moments of respite when we could actually be happy but more often than not, it comes at a cost.
I could go all religious and say you can find joy and happiness in God. Although true, I’d rather we stay on planet earth for a bit:).
Gonna be using myself as a case study so check dis out… For a while (by a while I mean I really long time :roll:SHH) I’ve been having what I like to call “happiness issues” and I was mostly sad or at best indifferent most of the time. Accidentally, I discovered that I found joy in interacting with people and making them laugh… Their laughter usually translated to some sort of happiness for me and I was gradually getting a fix for my “issues”.
But of course people being who they are can’t help but f**k up and being a slightly proud person myself (emphasis on d “slightly” ;)), my first instinct would be to cut them off and be like “f**k it, who needs you?!”. Did this for a bit and then it hit me… I do need them, not for them but for myself and so now I put my pride aside and as a result have become a lot more tolerant (remember the cost thing?).
In doing this, I gained two things; I stay happy and I have a larger capacity to accommodate people.
Life’s a bitch boys and girls but that doesn’t mean u gotta let her screw you over. Happiness is out there and when u find it, do whatever it takes to keep it… You owe yourself that much.
This post was written by a certain somebody called Alexander Fasoro-Joseph. Who would have thunk he could write this wonderfully:)? . I love this and I’m all for baring emotions and frustrations through writing. I know this write-up very well. Its come through for me (via advice) so many times and I hope it does the same for you and you find complete happiness.
So #letsdothis: if you feel you have something to say. Whatever it is, as long as it self-empowers and it helps the next individual to be better, then by all means, let me know and we’ll work something out.
This blog is non-profit. I dont write to make money. I write to air out my emotions when i cant put them in words. I write because it is my hope that someone somewhere has better direction through my thoughts. Writing is my escape. If its yours too and you want to share, do tell.
Thank you Writer Alex! :mrgreen::mrgreen::mrgreen:
